"My husband and I had talked for years about conceiving before we even started trying so I knew that ovulation tests and trackers were in my future since my ovulation was unpredictable at best. After using drug store ovulation tests, and not getting results, I discovered a blog post written about the Mira device and knew my search for ovulation trackers was over. Read on to learn more about how I used Mira to track my unpredictable ovulation and eventually get pregnant."
Before trying to conceive
"We knew we wanted to try for a baby but living in a country without universal healthcare, we knew we needed financial security first. We saved for years before officially trying to conceive so that we had that buffer if needed.
My periods had always been abnormal and unpredictable so my expectation was that trying to conceive was going to take awhile. Not knowing when you ovulate can really mess up your timeline for conceiving so I knew this bit of information would be crucial to our success.
I tried using other ovulation trackers but didn’t have any success. Those tests are based on data that I don’t have and that doesn’t necessarily fit my cycle, so even though I was religiously testing, I still wasn’t ovulating at the expected times.
After six months, I started looking for alternatives and started researching what I could do about my ovulation issues. Going into this journey knowing that my ovulation was unpredictable was a big catalyst for wanting to do something before too much time had passed. Six months isn’t very long in the TTC world but it can feel like an eternity when you know something could be off."
Frustration with tracking ovulation
"I was frustrated with the ovulation trackers and tests I found at the drugstore. I knew when my period was, but even with taking the ovulation tests it still didn’t seem like I was ovulating at the expected times. None of the tests I used helped me learn more about my cycle and I ended up just being frustrated.
In my frustration, I started researching ovulation tracker options. I wanted to see if there was something I could do or if I was doing something wrong. After reading a blog post about the Mira fertility device, I was optimistic to find something that could give me the answers I was looking for. I was optimistic that through hormone testing I could solve my ovulation woes and was actually excited to finally figure out what was going on with my cycle."
Using Mira
"My key objective with using Mira, besides getting pregnant, was to figure out my cycle and learn more about when I was ovulating. None of the drug store options had helped in that department so my first cycle using Mira was mostly to figure out what my normal was. As it turns out, I learned that I ovulate much closer to my period than the average person. After just one cycle of using Mira I had more information than all of those months with other ovulation trackers."

"The data from Mira was so helpful and we put it to good use. By the second cycle of using Mira, we were able to use that data to conceive. By testing and tracking my LH, E3G, and PdG hormones we had a much clearer picture of ovulation and the best time for baby-making."

Advice for others
"I would absolutely recommend using Mira, especially if you’re at the start of your fertility journey. I knew my biggest hurdle would be getting accurate ovulation information, but I didn’t realize just how much hormone testing would help. I know it’s not the same for everyone, but being able to conceive within two cycles of using the device was a dream come true. It was a great tool to establish when I was ovulating and the data was beyond helpful for timing any intimate activities. Mira was well worth it, especially now that we have our baby boy!"
