Claire's story

Medically reviewed by Katerina Shkodzik, MD, Ob&Gyn

Claire, 41

After spending most of her adult life building a career she loved, Claire decided it was time to start a family. She knew that trying to conceive in her early 40s might come with challenges, but she didn’t expect how much her body would change. Irregular cycles, mood swings, and other perimenopausal symptoms left her feeling unsure about where she stood in her fertility journey.

Looking for real answers and a plan that took her age and symptoms into account, Claire reached out to Mira’s Hormone Health Clinic.

A supportive consultation that brought clarity

In her first 45-minute consultation, Claire finally had the chance to talk about what she was experiencing without feeling rushed. Her practitioner asked about her health history, current symptoms, and goals, not just from a fertility standpoint, but from a broader view of her well-being. They reviewed how her lifestyle might be influencing her hormones and discussed what could be done to support her through this transition.

The session included:

  • A review of her cycle history and TTC goals
  • A look at her symptoms and possible hormonal shifts
  • Nutrition, supplement, and stress management suggestions
  • A next-step plan based on her current hormone data

About two months later, Claire returned for a follow-up consultation. Together with her practitioner, she reviewed the progress she’d made and any changes in her cycle or symptoms. This second session helped refine her plan and gave her a clearer sense of what was working.

Starting the journey with better insight

After the consultations, Claire began applying what she had learned — from nutrition tips and lifestyle changes to hormone tracking using the Mira Monitor.

She was advised to take the Panorama at-home finger-prick lab test, which measured five key hormones — including AMH, a marker that can provide insight into ovarian reserve. The results gave her and her practitioner a clearer picture of her fertility health.

With regular hormone tracking and practical adjustments to her daily routine, Claire began feeling more in control.

The outcome

After several months on her plan, Claire started to see positive changes. Her symptoms felt more manageable. She felt more in tune with her body and better informed about her fertility potential.

While she’s navigating perimenopause, she now feels more confident in the steps she’s taking. For Claire, it’s no longer just about the outcome, it’s about understanding and managing her symptoms with the right tools and support.
