My history
"I always knew I wanted to have a baby, but I also had career goals I wanted to achieve first. Trying to conceive was put on the back burner while I focused on my career so I could be where I wanted to be, and we would try when the time was right. I knew that waiting might be a risk, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the state of my fertility. In the back of my mind, I always wondered if I’d made the right decision or if there would be any challenges.
We were married for 8 years before we started trying. I didn’t know if one or both of us would face fertility issues and wanted to prepare myself for whatever the outcome would be. I’d heard horror stories about leaving it too long but knew there were things I could do to take as much control of the situation as possible. I wanted to arm myself with as much data as possible as we started our journey so I did a lot of research.
After countless hours of learning about cycles and all things fertility, I found the Mira device and decided it was exactly what I needed to have as much data about my body as I could. I had looked at a lot of different ovulation kits and trackers, but Mira was the most user-friendly with the most comprehensive data. Testing with Mira
"Although my cycles were regular, tracking them was one of my biggest struggles. I was never sure if or when I ovulated and with Mira I could not only predict ovulation but confirm it as well. Mira helped remove some of the mystery around ovulation and with the test wands I knew exactly when it was happening. Obviously, when you’re trying to get pregnant, especially after waiting as long as we did, time is of the essence. We wanted to make the most of each month and maximize our chances of being successful."
With the help of Mira, we were able to conceive within the first 4 cycles. In fact, I’m confident it would have been sooner if I had bought more supplies. Advice for others
"It’s so easy to lose hope when you’re struggling with infertility or have any hiccups on the road to getting pregnant. But don’t lose hope, there are so many more resources available now. Arm yourself with the right information and do your research so you can be your own best advocate. And don’t forget to reach out to your support system. It can be a lonely time when you feel like you’re the only one facing the issue but there are so many resources and groups that can give you the support you need to keep going. And above all else, practice really good self care. It may be hard but it’s important to make it a part of your life. Find what works for you and strive for progress, not perfection. After all, your life may be about to get a whole lot busier!"
