"Getting pregnant was supposed to be easy but after it took over 2 years to get pregnant, I knew that we might face challenges when we decided to try again. From a miscarriage to medical tests, finding Mira helped me understand more about what was going on in my body and ultimately helped us put the pieces of the puzzle together for success. This is my story of how I used Mira to learn more about my hormones, decode my cycle, and ultimately get pregnant."

My last pregnancy

"It took nearly two and a half years to be successful with my last pregnancy. As you can imagine, this was a trying time since it was taking so long. Every month I was met with disappointment when I found out I wasn’t pregnant. To add insult to injury, I also had a miscarriage during this time and just never felt quite right after that. I know many people can struggle to get pregnant after a miscarriage but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. My doctors put me through a series of tests to determine what was wrong and I was told that even though I was ovulating, my follicles weren’t maturing. We were still struggling to get pregnant and leaned on medical intervention for help. I am forever grateful that we were able to access medical intervention to help us get pregnant, but it can be disheartening to know that your body isn’t doing what it was designed to do. I felt like I was at the mercy of my medical team and was left wanting more information about my body, my hormones, and anything I could do to help the process."

Trying again

"When we started trying again, I knew that there might be challenges. We decided to try for at least a year before going the medical intervention route again. But this time, I wanted to be armed with more information about what was going on in my body. I wanted to know what my hormones were doing and understand ovulation better. I had already experienced the barrage of tests and procedures you go through when you seek fertility treatments, which is why I wanted to wait at least a year. But a year can be a long time to wonder what your hormones are doing so I started doing research to gain a better understanding of my body. I wasn’t looking for a magic pill or an easy fix, I just wanted to gain more knowledge about what my hormones were doing. I wanted a clearer picture of my cycle and how my hormones changed during that time. After looking at a lot of different options, I found Mira and was very impressed. I purchased the device right away and couldn’t wait to get started. At the very least I knew that I would be armed with more information about my body but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hopeful it would help us get pregnant too. Another bonus was their great customer service presence and support. They offer email support and have a lot of options to help you through communities online, like Facebook."

Tracking cycles with Mira

"Using the Mira fertility device, I was able to pinpoint my ovulation within one cycle. That may not sound revolutionary but it helped us figure out the best time to try. Knowing exactly when my fertile window occurred meant we could plan intercourse for the best chances of getting pregnant."

How Mira helped me

"After the first cycle of testing and tracking my hormones, we knew the optimal time to try for a baby. As luck would have it, we were successful on the second cycle of tracking and I am now pregnant! Although, I don’t think it was luck at all. When you don’t have clear data to show ovulation and your fertile window, trying to conceive can feel like a shot in the dark. With Mira we knew exactly what my hormones were doing and were able to make the best use of my fertile window. I wasn’t expecting it to work so quickly but I’m so glad that it did. This little device saved us from going down the fertility treatment route again."

Advice for others

"Whether you are struggling with infertility or just want to learn more about your body, it can be hard to keep your spirits up. My advice for others though is to keep trying and don’t give up. You are enough! Do the research and learn everything you can about your body to become a better you. Even if things don’t turn out exactly the way you want them to, having more information about what’s going on with your body is a good thing and can give you peace of mind you wouldn’t get without medical intervention."
