Introduction
My husband and I were trying for around 9 months when we decided to give Mira a go. Our main goal was to conceive (and spoiler alert: Mira definitely helped us achieve that goal!) but I also wanted to understand whether there were any hormonal imbalances that might have been making it harder for me to get pregnant.
The Ease Of Mira
We had already been using some other fertility trackers but I wanted to learn detailed information about my hormone levels and the Mira Hormone Monitor Max Kit seemed the best for that. I also loved the ease of being able to test once with my first-morning urine. I was finding testing throughout the day with ovulation predictor kits very tricky to fit into a busy schedule - and they were only testing my LH levels!
Discovering A Thyroid Issue
Using Mira was incredible and really enlightening - I learned way more than I was expecting! Within one month, the kit helped me see that although my periods were normal, I was not ovulating each month. This helped me identify an underlying issue that I was struggling with, which was affecting my fertility.
After a visit with my doctor, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid issue called Hashimoto's thyroiditis which was affecting my fertility. I have no idea if I would have ever got this diagnosis if it hadn't been for the information I got from using Mira!
I was prescribed thyroid medication and with the help of Mira I was able to see that it was working and track PDG to confirm that I had ovulated. Iʼm thrilled to share that we conceived 2 months later and are over halfway to meeting our sweet little boy!
Advice for others
If you are struggling to conceive, hang in there and try not to get discouraged - I know that is easier said than done! I also highly recommend considering buying Mira to learn more about your fertility. Of course, you can have tests done through a local lab, but testing with Mira is more convenient and way less expensive! I’m so grateful for everything I learned using Mira - it not only helped me conceive but I now feel more empowered about my health overall!
