How ExSeed measure sperm
The ExSeed Home Sperm Test measures your Total Motile Sperm Count (TMSC)—the best male fertility predictor. It’s calculated from 3 factors: volume, concentration, and motility.
Volume
Semen volume is the total amount of fluid ejaculated. Normal volume exceeds 1.5 mL; lower volumes, termed hypospermia, may result from hormonal abnormalities or ductal blockage.
Concentration
Sperm concentration is the number of sperm cells in each milliliter of semen. A normal level is above 15 million per milliliter. Below this is called oligospermia; no sperm at all is called azoospermia.
Motility
Sperm motility is how effectively sperm move through the female reproductive tract to fertilize an egg. Our algorithm measures forward, or progressive, motility. Normal motility is over 32% of sperm moving progressively; lower levels are called asthenozoospermia.
